Imagine Living a Life Without Fear

Fear can be a powerful influence in your life, often determining the actions you take or don’t take in many situations. At various times fear has probably stopped you from pursuing goals, making new friends, starting or keeping a romantic relationship, applying for a better job, starting your own business, or life changes that you would consider to be positive.

Can you imagine what it would be like to live your life without fear? Obviously you can’t eliminate fear altogether, nor would you want to. Some fears help keep you safe by discouraging you from jumping off a cliff or stepping into a line of fast-moving traffic. But the other kind of fears; the ones that prevent you from living the life of your dreams – how would it feel to release those once and for all?

For example:

Imagine if you had absolutely no fear of failure and you knew that you could accomplish anything you wanted – no limitations whatsoever. What would you do with your life? Would you change careers? Would you go back to school? Would you write that novel?

Imagine if you knew without a doubt that you deserved to have everything you want, and you had no doubts that you weren’t good enough or worthy enough. Would you finally allow yourself to get out and meet that special someone, fall in love and live happily ever after? Would you terminate the unhealthy relationships that are no longer serving you and haven’t been for years?

Imagine if you were no longer afraid to pursue your dreams and instead eagerly embraced opportunities to live every experience you wanted to live. What would you do if you could do anything at all?

You may be thinking “It’s great to imagine all this but I still feel fearful much of the time. I’m still afraid to fail. I’m still afraid to be rejected. I’m still afraid to take a chance. How do I get past those scary feelings?”

First of all, forgive yourself for being human. It’s completely natural to have these feelings, and there is nothing wrong with you – your body is wired to react strongly to potentially threatening situations. Your body can’t tell whether the threatening situation is truly harmful or not; it simply gives you the warning signs like a pounding heart, sweaty palms, shallow breathing, tightening muscles, and so on. Fear can be pretty darn intimidating – no doubt about it!

However, it’s important to understand that fear is just a feeling when it comes right down to it. It can’t physically hold you back from doing anything, and it can’t limit your potential unless you allow it to do so. Overcoming the influence of fear so you can live an amazing life is a simple matter of knowing how to diffuse the fearful feelings in the heat of the moment. This can be done in a variety of ways, including the use of calming affirmations, meditation, and breath work. When you calm the thoughts that are triggering the fear response, your body will automatically calm down too.

Universal Fears and How they are Fed to you.

Most of us have a set of unique fears that relate to our own lives, like concerns about loved ones, financial worries and so on; but there are also many “universal” fears – or perhaps you might call them “collective” fears – that are communicated to us through our environment.

These fears often relate to situations and events that leave us feeling vulnerable and defenseless, such as worldwide ‘pandemics’ (…and ‘vaccines’), ‘terrorist’ attacks, economic and financial crises, and so on.

Not only do we see and hear constant references to these frightening scenarios in the media and from the people around us…

…the energy of collective fears also seeps into the very fabric of our reality (the quantum field) and continues to resonate around and within us.

Since we are all connected to the collective consciousness, we can actually absorb this “fear energy” as we go about our daily lives – even if we don’t pay attention to the media hype and mass hysteria.

In other words, if society’s desire was to manipulate and control people by keeping them suppressed in a low vibratory state of fear …this can affect everyone…

Have you ever felt nervous, edgy, tense, or vulnerable for no apparent reason? Even when everything in your own life was going fine, you may still have been affected by these collective fears and felt uncomfortable as a result…

…And to make it worse, the moment you begin focusing on these fearful feelings, the more you begin to magnify the collective fear energy without even knowing it…

Reducing the Impact of Universal Fears

It’s not easy to avoid absorbing these fearful messages, especially when you seem to be surrounded by endless examples of them every day. However, there are a few things you can do to minimize the impact they have on your life.

An obvious first step is to limit your exposure to news broadcasts; especially when they always seem to pertain to frightening events that are beyond your control…

Focusing on this force-fed fear programming only makes you feel more vulnerable and adds to the energy of the collective fear. Certainly you can stay informed about world events but it is advisable to seek independant, unbiased news sources on the internet, and then immediately start shifting your focus to something less fearsome.

Empower yourself by remembering that most of the things you fear will never come to pass. In fact, when you remember that giving your attention to anything only makes it seem bigger and more intimidating, you can surely see the wisdom in being more discerning about the things you think about.

Deliberately focusing more on positive things will help override the negative input you receive each day too. When you take greater control of your focus and place it decisively upon the creation of a joyful and positive reality, you contribute that same energy to the quantum field. This helps minimize some of the fearful energy being contributed by others around the world.

It’s true that there are many horrible, scary things to worry about – but there are equally as many wonderful, joyful things to ponder. Spend time each day thinking about the people you love, happy memories, and the great experiences that may be waiting just around the corner for you. It may not make the scary possibilities go away completely but it will lighten your mood, leave you feeling happier and less fearful.

Why Fear Limits Your Life Potential

Have you ever felt like fear was preventing you from reaching your full potential in life?  If so, you are certainly not alone because fear is one of the biggest obstacles that many people face when trying to create better life circumstances.

Below are some of the most common ways that fear can hold you back:

Fear can prevent you from making positive changes.

Sometimes fear can make even the smallest changes seem extremely uncomfortable.  For example, you may be deeply dissatisfied with your job, but feel nervous or uncertain about finding and applying for a better one.  Or you may have always dreamed of buying your own home but worry that the responsibility would be too much to handle.

Fear can prevent you from breaking destructive habits.

We all know that smoking, poor dietary choices, excessive alcohol and a sedentary lifestyle are a recipe for health problems, but we often gravitate toward these habits because they help numb our anxious or fearful feelings.  If you have ever tried to break a bad habit like this, you know how stressful it can be because suddenly you are filled with anxiety and you don’t know how to handle it except to run back to your “pacifiers” – the very habits you are trying to break.

Fear can prevent you from taking risks.

Many of us shy away from risk because we fear negative consequences.  For example, you may hesitate to invest your money because you fear losing it, or avoid starting a new relationship because you were so hurt by the last one.  What most of us fail to realize is that risk can also bring great rewards.  Avoiding risk may help us avoid negative possibilities but we also miss the excitement and joy that come from positive outcomes.

Fear can prevent you from pursuing your goals.

Have you ever dreamed of doing something great but were never able to push yourself to do it?  Perhaps you dreamed of being a stand-up comedian but dreaded the thought of public speaking, or you desperately wanted to be a bestselling author but were too afraid to pen that novel lurking inside of you.

Fear can prevent you from expanding your life.

Social anxiety is another common way that fear can limit your potential.  It may prevent you from attending networking functions so your career or business can’t grow properly, or you may avoid taking that much needed vacation to relax and explore other cultures because you fear flying or being on a cruise ship.

How to Stop Fear from Limiting Your Potential

It’s important to note that all of these fears are most often groundless.  They are merely a perception that things “could” go wrong – but that doesn’t mean they will.

Rather than trying to force your way through the fear, you may find it easier to explore the many ways that fear can be effectively released from your mind, emotions, and body.  When you know how to release the fear, you simply handle it as you would any minor obstacle and then continue on your way to creating the best life you possibly can.

Happiness after a relationship break-up?

It seems absurd that one can think about happiness just after a relationship break up, right?

The thing with a relationship break-up is that it leaves you in such a state that you hardly have the strength to go on with your life. Fact is, relationship break-ups can leave you shattered and lifeless.  Your sense of purpose and inspiration vanish.  It leaves you ‘not knowing’ what to do with yourself.

This kind of thinking doesn’t serve you at all.  Yes, a relationship break up or divorce ( either one is just as emotionally painful as the other), can be difficult to recover from, however you can bounce back from it.

Here are some simple steps to help you see things more clearly.

1.  Rather than view your break-up as the end, see it as an opportunity for a new beginning in your life.

2.  Cry or grieve if you must ( and I know in some cases this can be part of a healing process), however do not dwell on it for too long.  Learn to accept what is and that no amount of crying will change anything.

3.  Begin to list the things you have in your life that you are grateful for.  Often when relationships break up, it seems that all your happiness walked out the door.  Not so!  Look around you and take a sincere look at what blessings you still have in your life.

4.  Find tools you can use to help overcome your loss.  Meditation, visualisation, affirmations.  These are all effective tools to help you re-focus and help you regain your sense of inner peace, a sense of balance and harmony.

5.  Do not go looking for ‘happiness‘ in another relationship.  Learn that inner happiness comes firstly from within you.  It is an illusion that your happiness can only be delivered by someone outside of yourself.  It just doesn’t work that way.

6.  If you want to move on with your life, you need to move beyond any past hurt, anger, resentment that you may have toward your former partner or spouse.  Harboring any of these negative emotions only serve to keep  you stuck in the past.

7.  Begin to list all the things that bring you happiness and joy right now that is already present in your life.  focusing on what does make you happy, the things you already have that brings a smile to your face or makes you laugh, will help bring more of the same toward you.  This is the Law of Attraction in action. What you focus on is what you attract more of.

8.  Make time for yourself.  Learn to accept and enjoy doing things on your own.  Learn to love the pleasure of your own company.

We live in a world where there is a great deal of emphasis on doing things with others, and when you do not have a significant other to do things with, you feel it is ‘unnatural’  and unusual.  Quite the contrary.  I discovered a whole new world quite some years down the track after my own divorce that it was sheer fun to go out and eat dinner alone.

I had no one tell me what I should or should not order, which kind or restaurant I ought to pick to dine at, what time I should eat, what I should wear or what time I should be home.  I had no pressure and  I quite simply had a ball!

9.  Find something you absolutely love doing, be it reading, painting, playing music, singing, gardening, sewing, knitting, playing sport, studying, bike riding, jogging or anything else that you love doing.  Re-directing your energy in this way as opposed to laying on the lounge under a blanket wallowing in misery is a far better option and will lead to a more positive and happier outcome.

Formula for Creating Wealth

The very fact that you  WANT to attract more money, wealth and abundance is the very reason it evades you!  You see WANTING to the brain implies LACK.  And as you will know the feeling of ‘wanting’  is a strong emotion.  This particular emotion is usually one of desperate need.

If you NEED more wealth and abundance, if you WANT more wealth and abundance you will not attract it merely because you want it  because your wanting   is backed with a feeling of URGENCY.  And so the Universe responds to the feelings or vibrations we omit.  And given that all these emotions I have described above come with a sense of LACK – you get more the same!

This is The Law of Attraction working.   So what do you need to do?

You need to begin with changing your mindset and attitudes.   You need to change that part of your brain that has become hardwired by your past repeated thoughts.  And this can be uncomfortable because we are a species that love structure.  To change then will require us to relinquish old thought and behaviour patterns and responses.

To change you will need to undo and break old thought habits, releasing that which no longer serves you.  Having said that you also need to REPLACE the old thought patterns with new ones.

This is where affirmations or declarations as they have often been referred to work.  Your affirmations need to be statements that resonate within you an ‘absolute belief’ that it IS and not just words you utter parrot fashioned in the ‘hope’ that the Universe will hear you.  The Universe does hear you ALL THE TIME!

Affirmations need to be specific because the Universe loves DETAIL!  The more details the better! And the clearer you are the easier it will be for the Universe to deliver.

Keep your affirmations in the PRESENT TENSE.  That is affirm in the NOW, not in the future tense such as:

  • I will,
  • I want,
  • I attract or draw into my life etc.

Rather, start your affirmations by saying:

  • I am gratefulfor the wonderful love relationship I have with my partner or,
  • I am so happy that I am NOW making $250,000 per year.

Do your affimrations on a daily basis.  Write a few that suit your purpose and have them where you can see them.  Have them by your bedside in a frame.   Laminate them and cut out so that you can place them in your handbag, wallet, in your car, on your desk, in your study, on the fridge door and anywhere else that you can think of.

You don’t necessarily need to repeat them over and over again, but you need to be consistent until you replace the old thoughts that have created lack for you in the past, with the new thoughts that will bring into your life the very things you are affimring.

Does money buy happiness?

While I was growing up I had often heard the expression ” we’re poor but we’re happy”.  Well, for the life of me I never quite understood how anyone was happy about being poor.  Fact was, the ones making that statement had a couple or three houses by the sea, a business and several cars – not the cheap used ones either!

One can certainly argue that money can bring a lot into your life and it certainly would bring you much joy, comforts and some wonderful experiences.  But would your happiness, your everyday happiness be dependant on how much money you have or don’t have?

Think about it…………………….say you don’t have a great deal of money right now, or don’t have as much as you would like to have.  Would that mean you wouldn’t be happy, or couldn’t be happy until you had X amount of dollars in your bank account or to your name?

Would you put off being happy for now until you reached your goal of having so much money you wouldn’t know what to do with?

A lot of us have come from a conditioning and belief that money hold the key to our happiness.  Fact is:

  • Happiness has nothing to do with how much money we have or don’t have
  • Happiness   is a state of mind we choose regardless of our circumstances
  • Though we may not always be able to choose our circumstances we can certainly choose the way we respond to them.
  • We can get up in the morning and go to work with a smile on our face and choose to be happy or choose not to be happy.

Only this morning one of my co-workers asked why I was so happy when the workplace was such a gloomy place at the present moment.  I answered ”  I  can CHOOSE to be happy or unhappy regardless of what is going on around me.”

In choosing to stay in a state of being happy in the moment no matter what is going on, we change our energy.  when we raise our energy or vibration we draw more and more favourable circumstances into our lives.  Hence, we draw more of what we do want and less and less of what we don’t want in our lives.

In being in a place of happiness more and more, we attract higher and higher energy.  We attract better circumstances in our lives, better opportunities and you guessed it………………more money!

So if you want more money in your life, more abundance on every level be happy without having to have a reason!

How to attract Happiness

I have had enough life experience to be able to know that happiness is a state of mind rather than what you get when you have reached a certain plateau in life.  Happiness is not defined by how much ‘stuff’ we have – though this brings pleasant experiences, it is not the sum total of ‘real happiness’.

Happiness is a state of mind.  A place we choose to be at or not.  Money buys comforts, wonderful experiences, but money does not buy happiness as this is clearly something  that comes from within.  We are either happy or not.

We musn’t confuse gratifying the ego with things outside of us to create our  ‘happiness’.  We have all been in that place where we have a new car, new relationship, holiday, , house, jewellery, clothes, and after a while the joy of this new object has dissipated to boredom.  This is the ego’s way of saying ” I need something new to entertain me and make me feel better”.

Happiness comes from a place deep inside that permeate your entire being, radiates and extends outward and touches the people around you. True lasting happiness comes from within.

To say that there is a single key element to happiness is incorrect.  And for everyone what specifically makes you or causes you to be happy is different.  For some it may be to simplify your life and de clutter it of things that are just dragging you down.  For some it may be to cut down on spending so you feel like you have more money, thus reducing any stress towards financial issues.

Others may just want to work on thinking and speaking more positively, and then there are those who feel that happiness stems from meditating, getting into a relaxed state regularly.

There are numerous ways we can reach this space we call happiness.

When you find yourself in a place where you don’t feel happy do something to make yourself feel happy. Do simple things like meditating, reading, exercising, or just doing something that brings you much joy and fulfillment.  For as long as you stay in a state of unhappiness you will continue to attract more of it.  This is the law of attraction in action.

The more miserable you are, the more you dwell on whatever circumstances or situation that you ‘think’ is causing your unhappiness, then the more of the same stuff will show up in your life.

Our conditioning has been such from childhood that happiness is something that ‘others’ provide for us.  How many relationships suffer because they are dependant on the other person to ‘make then happy’?

How often do you hear others say that this person or that person, or this situation or that situation is directly responsible for their unhappiness?

We place an enormous emphasis on happiness being something that is beyond our reach or ‘out there somewhere’ outside of us.

I found myself in a hospital for many weeks after a serious breakdown some 15 years ago and in my determined effort to change my life, I began my own form of ‘happiness therapy’.  I would get up from my bed quite late in the evening, take long baths in the patient bathroom with lavender and bubble bath.  Go into the kitchen and make myself my favourite food ( Vegemite sandwich of course), ask the theatre nurses who weren’t busy to take me for a ride on the operating theatre gurneys around the building.

I needed to find ways to create my happiness from a hospital bed.  And I did.  I just wanted to be happy again and I intuitively knew that this was not going to come from outside of ME.

Begin to find simple things you can do to bring laughter and happiness into your world.  As you do, more happiness comes your way without a great deal of effort and you begin to attract into your life more joy, more fulfilment and so much more happiness that you imagined possible.

The mystery of life

“To the average person life is an enigma, a deep mystery, a complex, an incomprehensible problem, or appears so, but it is very simple if one holds the key. Mystery is only another name for ignorance; all things are mysteries when they are not understood, but when we understand life, it no longer appears mysterious.”

As I was reading these words today from Working With The Law by Raymond Holliwell, I could not help but recall a time when life for me seemed to be an enigma, a deep mystery as Holliwell describes it.
It was not until my mid thirties I had a mental shift and realised that what I held foremost in my mind created my outer reality.

For this reason I have come to believe that this Law of Thinking long before I had heard of this term or read about it, is by far one of the most powerful laws in the universe.  Our mind is a powerful force, perhaps one of the most powerful forces we know.

As Bob Proctor says ” thought waves are cosmic waves that penetrate all time and space”.

In essence this law states that what we mentally dwell on will continue to show up in our lives over and over and over again.
If we continue to dwell upon thoughts of lack, fear of losing our jobs, fear of being cut back from work, fear of losing someone in a relationship, fear of losing money, fear of getting sick, these conditions will gravitate towards us and manifest in conditions in our life.

Keep in mind that whatever you think in your mind are seeds that will grow. Good or bad thoughts, whatever they be, will sprout out into your world. And if you want good seeds to grow, plant good thoughts. As for the bad thoughts, replace these thoughts .

As Holliwell writes ” As we replace the thoughts that are as weeds, they will die of their natural selves, for such weeds die from lack of cultivation. As long as we allow things to seem real to us, we are putting our energy into it. We are nurturing it; we are feeding it; we are keeping it alive; we are putting our faith into that things, whether we lie it or not, and it must naturally grow, for the Law of growth is ever working to produce whatever seed plant.

Thinking is something that flows though us continually. There isn’t a moment nor even a microsecond that we are NOT thinking. If our thoughts are scattered, we serve only to cause for ourselves confusion and much unhappiness.

Now one can see the value in needing to collect our thoughts and harness and control our thoughts.  For if we harness it; in other words discipline ourselves to a more constructive state of thinking then we will not be victims of what is quite often termed ‘bad luck’ or a ‘raw deal’. There is no such thing.

Once we begin to comprehend this we can fully appreciate what Holliwell means when he says that ” life no longer appears mysterious”.

Happiness – It’s All In Your Mind!

Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health on all levels.  Being happy protects you from the stresses of daily life.   Stress levels have been clinging in the past century and have doubled since 1985.  It’s the main driver in depression, which is the number one cause of disability world wide.

Stress related problems include high blood pressure, heart disease, heart attacks, arthritis, asthma, diabetes, cancer, chronic fatigue, anxiety attacks, mood swings, depressions, sleep problems, eating disorders, poor immune function, ADHD. colds, flue, viruses, headaches, migraines, alcohol and drug abuse to name some.

One of the better things ever said is – ‘The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change’.  We have the power to make the necessary changes if we so desire.  Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation, we can always find comfort in the knowledge that it too can change.

Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness.  People are different so an acceptance for people as they are and for who they are is important.  Avoid clashes, arguments and let go of all kinds of resentments.

Being  happy is quite easy, just decide  to BE happy.  Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook to be.  The choice is simple really- choose to be happy.

Here are a few ways which you can choose to be happy:

We have so much to be thankful for and sometimes we just plain forget it!!   Be grateful for getting to your destination safely.  Be grateful for your food, your job, your salary,  your family, your relatives ( or maybe not?).  Be grateful for your job, your car, your creature comforts, your children, your husband, wife, partner, your health, your clothes, your bank account, your house, the things in your house that make you comfortable, electricity, hot and cold running water, your clothes and the list can go on forever.

News ( especially bad news) is nothing short of stress.  Get less of it!  Some people just can’t start the day off without a dose of the news.  99% of the news we hear is usually bad so starting the day with bad news doesn’t seem like a smart way to start your day.

Time is invaluable and too important to waste.  Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves schedules, setting goals, planning, creating a list of things to do and prioritizing.  These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill.

These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

Learn to laugh every day.  Did you know about the power of laughter and its effects on the body?  Here is a list of but a few effects that laughter has on our body.

In the body system the power of laughter effects our energy levels, oxygen levels, heart blood pressure, digestive, reproductive and immune systems.

The effects on our minds is that it decreases depression, increases memory and restores our ability to reason and make intelligent decisions.  Emotionally laughter causes a positive emotional force that can counter depression and brings about emotions like joy, hope and gratitude.

On a social health level laughter attracts other people and improves social skills, boosts communication skills and people generally are attracted to contagious positive emotions.

Don’t be afraid to express how your feel, your affections, friendship and passion to people around you.  They will most likely reciprocate your actions.  Avoid keeping pent up anger of frustrations, as this is clearly bad for your health!  Instead find ways of expressing them in a ways that will not cause harm to you or others.

Learning is an amazing experience.  Try to make a point of learning something new everyday.  Learning expands and broadens our horizons.  As well it gives us more opportunities.

Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for.  it will make you feel alive!  Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.

These are just a few simple things you can do everyday to be happy and it costs you nothing!!

And remember:  “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be” – Abraham Lincoln
